The Yellow Stone eruption scene was actually filmed in the Kamloops, Ashroft, and Cache Creek region of British Columbia in Canada. The crew also built a full Tibetan village, with five to six hundred authentic Tibetan extras at the mountains of Cache Creek.

1. The Christ the Redeemer statue at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The statue was built between 1926 and 1931 and after some time there was also a chapel built at the base of the mountain to house 150 visitors. The monument was inaugurated on October 12, 1931 in an extravagant and grand commemoration.

Located at the foot of Mt. Everest, Rongbuk Monastery is 5,800 meters above sea level. Towing in the severely cold climate, it is the highest altitude monastery on the planet, also a vantage point for watching Mt. Everest.
